Twenty twenty twenty-four hours to goooo....

And we'll be back in Mantenoooo. Plenty to do, places to goooo... before we get back to Manteno.
Corny? Yes. True? Pretty much! We're hoping to be back a bit sooner than 7pm, but that was the best opening line my wine-infested brain could come up with.

Busy day today! Went out to the shops again, bought a few things. The town was much busier than before, creating crowds everywhere. We saw quite a few Santas, and even a Grinch in a Santa suit. We participated in our first wine tasting. It was a learning experience! Thankfully we listened to our server, and she hooked us up with a really good wine instead of one that we picked out, and gave us some helpful information! Throughout the day, we accumulated 5 bottles of wine, 2 of which being duplicates. We ate at a place called Boone's, which was very good. We also sampled some chocolates earlier in the day which were also very good.

In AC:CF, we're in our first fishing tournament, which I think I just secured the win in. Good old stringfish... 68.8 inches! And now I'm attempting my first snowman! And I'm done! He's happy, so he just might send me something!

Too into the game for now... have pics up later... Cya!

OMGZ

Sorry, had to vent. I just spent around an hour or more working on getting the WiFi fixed. 20 restarts, 2 downloads, several frustrated sighs, and a piece or two of chocolate later, and we're back up and running!

Like Jamie and I have been saying... "Every day is an adventure." And this one sure didn't fall short! Here's a breakdown:

  • We started the day off in Galena, checking out the many shops. We didn't buy anything today... we just checked a bunch of shops out to prepare for tomorrow!
  • We ate at the Galena Cafe, which oddly closed at 2:30pm, for a mere $35 with dessert and tip.
  • We ventured over into Iowa to check out Dubuque... stopped by their Best Buy and mall. We've determined that: shopowners/workers are sometimes VERY strange. People are either: a) mean, or b) nice. There's no in between.
  • We got gas today, and it was kinda sad to pay more than $1.50 per gallon. However, BP's silver grade is cheaper than their regular in these here parts, and that was fine with me. We got more gas later, when...
  • We went out to a Japenese place called Taiko, which was pretty good. We went in with the mentality that it wasn't our typical Fuji Steakhouse, which helped. The servers were interesting, the food was delicious, the hibachi entertainment was mostly new, and the bill was cheaper than we normally see at Fuji! Overall, a very enjoyable experience!
  • In AC:CF, Jamie has her second renovation paid off. I found Biskit's key, thus earning 600 bells and a bit more of his trust. Jamie's currently diving into the stalk market in hopes of making it big! Nothing a little time travel can't assure! We've also went from Nook's Cranny to the Nook n' Go, so we're excited for that as well! EDIT: Jamie just made our first snowman!!!
  • And, last but not least, Jamie has started on Thank You cards from the wedding... a nice early start!
Tomorrow's our last full day here in Galena, so we're prepared to make the best of it!
Shopping at the local shops, getting in a nice local dinner, and maybe even checking out the night life is just a sample list of what we're looking at tomorrow!

Suppose we'd better rest so we can accomplish all of our goals!
Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Another day, another (sand) dollar... spent!

Our second day in Galena, and it's beautiful outside! We vow not to let Animal Crossing: City Folk get the best of us today! (At least not until later!)

Our intentions: Get out and about, check out actual Galena. So far we've really only seen our rental townhouse and the general store (and some windy, somewhat slick roads), so we're looking to change that!
  • We've got some Christmas present shopping to do, so Poopsie's is on the list.
  • Jamie wants Starbucks-esque coffee, so we'll be on a hunt for that.
  • And we even hear that there's a local Wal-Mart... and thank you cards are a current necessity.
  • It would be nice to take some pictures at some point... the scenery is all very impressive. Haven't seen any animals yet, besides a few hundred gaggles of geese and whatever we've seen in AC:CF.
Speaking of AC:CF, we have some goals for that as well...
  • We'd both really like to get our second mortgage paid off. Bigger house = more stuff = oh yeeeeeah.
  • We would really like to figure out the snowman thing. We can never find two snowballs at the same time.
  • A slingshot would be nice. We've finally seen some balloons, and we want those presents!
Well... we're off to see the wizard! Check back in with us later!

In the beginning...

Hey everyone! (if anyone's reading this, that is.)
After getting married on Friday, we thought it would be fun to start a random blog about us. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

We're currently in Galena, Illinois, taking some time away to relax! So far, it's been pretty relaxing minus a little confusion on I-88 and an icy pathway at our check-in. Not to worry though... we overcame all obstacles and we're here safe and sound! Nothing the newlyweds can't overcome with some Starbucks, GPS, and plenty of love!

Right now, we're pretty addicted to playing Animal Crossing: City Folk on the Wii... it's entertaining! (So addicted that we are playing it now!) We created Manteno and each have a house paid off and on the first stage of renovation! We're looking for people that we know to add as friends, so if you play, comment on our post or shoot us an email! Once we figure out our Friend ID, we'll post it here.

In case anyone wants to shoot us an email, our new email address is ejwjjw2008@gmail.com! Of course, you can still contact us through our old email addresses or through Facebook.

Well, we'll probably update throughout our trip, but for now, it's back to AC:CF! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day and holiday season!
